Types of Reaction Before Attacks

SEM is intuition or perception of the opponent’s attack and according to the nature thereof, the reaction can produce:

1 After the attack (GO-IN-SEN)
2. At the same time that the attack (TAI-NO-SEN)
3. Before you start the attack (NO-NO-SEN)
The old masters of Zen and Budo said that between perception and reaction should not even fit the thickness of a hair.

GO-NO-SEN is when you wait until the last moment to prevent the attack or also when the attack surprises us (late perception). Also for the opponent who is released it is too late to change attack.
Our response will be dated at the last moment of resistance and counter-attack.
Our answer will be given at the last moment to avoid the attack.

TAI-NO-SEN is the perception of attack at the same time that occurs, triggering the reaction is at the same time.
Attack and response are simultaneous.

SEN-NO-SEN is the perception the attack before it to give. Careful observation of the opponent and intuition captures the intent of the attack and the answer is given in anticipation of the action of the attack. The NO-NO-NO is only possible when the technical field is full and the mind is in a state of full availability, without letting themselves be influenced by any circumstances.

One of the oldest schools of martial arts, Tenshin SHN’YO-RYU (Jujutsu) distinguishes three states of mind before performing a technique:
1 ZEN SHIN referring to attention, availability and prior decision to carry out a technique.
2 TSU SHIN absolute concentration that must be preserved while carrying out a technique.
3 ZAN SHIN vigilance without giving attention after performing a technique.
Another very important factor to take into account Jujutsu is the distance; space and time are very important concepts to the extent that the timing of the meeting is defined and redound to the benefit to know that dominate both factors in its action.

The distance (APRM) is the space that separates TORI UKE depending on the weapon used, or the type of attack that is going to carry out;
1 TECHIKAMA (Short Distance) – UKE and TORI are at a distance less than one step and can produce is an attack without prior approach.
It is possible to surprise, no time for reflection and the whole defensive reaction needs the help of a ATEMI Prior.
2 MA (middle distance) – UKE and TORI are at a greater distance than a step. UKE needs to approach (to step) to reach TORI in their attack.
There is little time for reaction, but surprise is also possible. You can use the momentum of the attacker with avoidance.
3 TOMA (long distance) – UKE and TORI are separated three or four steps away from each other. There is time to realize the attack and reflect.
The surprise is more difficult at this distance, that on the other hand is ideal to use the attacker’s momentum in their favor.

Jujutsu their practice after 40 years.
The biological process of aging of the human body from the age of 30 is characterized by:
slow and gradually loss of adaptability and reorientation of organs.
Volume4 of decreased muscle mass due to loss of elasticity, water and minerals in increasingly vulnerable to sprains.
Reduction of powers of the nervous system that affects coordination, concentration and perception-reaction.
Reduction of the cardio-circulatory and pulmonary system performance by degenerative changes in the walls of arteries and veins, and obstruction of large number of small capillaries, causing increased blood pressure, reduced respiratory capacity for loss of elestecidade the lungs.
The harden bones become more brittle and less flexible.
Physical exercise and in this case the practice of jujutsu, helps to maintain physical fitness, to make engines efforts (coordination, agility, flexibility, strength, speed, resistance) to a very old age.
Since the maximum number of pulsations that can reach the heart during exercise decreases with age, the pace of work for each person is determined by this observation without missing the following rule: remove 180 the number of years.
Thus, a person 40: 180-40 = 140 beats per minute should not exceed at any time during your training.
The practice of Jujutsu improves the performance of the heart, lungs, muscles, metabolism and endocrine system.
